Hi Terri: First of all, regarding the PowerPoint presentation, if you can
get that presentation from them ahead of time, you can open the presentation
in Powerpoint and then export it to Microsoft Word. You go to the File menu
after you've opened the presentation, then I believe you go to Send To and
open that and choose Microsoft Word. A dialog box will open and your focus
will be on the OK button. You should tab to where there's a list of radio
buttons and choose the one that says Outline and press Enter. Soon,
Microsoft Word opens with the outline of the presentation. Save this as a
Word document and there you have your powerpoint presentation all fixed
nicely for you.
I would definitely use my Braillesense Plus to take notes as it does a great
job and is so easy to use.

Sorry for the cross-post, but I'd like some advice from all viewpoints.
I will be taking the Arecc Level I course and it's being taught locally. It
will last one day and the test will be taken on the same day. I haven't
been to school for years, (grin).
The material will be presented using PowerPoint slides and the sighted folks
will be getting a copy of this material on paper.
How do you think I should handle the situation? Should I take notes using
the BrailleSense Plus? Should I record the presentation usinng the BSP or
cassette machine? Is it possible to convert the material ahead of time into
text so I could read it with my BSP? Does anyone have a text version of the
material? (I'm assuming the material you might have from the online version
of the course would cover the same things as the course I'm taking.)
Any advice would be welcome.
