This is where gMail is nice; you can send email from any network through
your email client, as far as I know, and even if you cannot, the mobile web
interface is very easy to use on a braille device.
Have a great day,
Alex

If the POP and SMTP servers are reachable through the wireless connection,
they'll be used. Consider yourself lucky! My experience is that while POP
servers are reachable and you can get mail, an SMTP server is often harder
to access because it wants you to be logged onto a certain network. And
some wireless connections turn off email access altogether, and you're
forced to use a web interface.

Subject: [GWN] email question
Hi all.
Okay this is most odd.
I am away from home using a wireless connection. My question is that I
don't understand how I am able to connect to my mail using the bsp's
email program. I thought the email program would just dial or whatever to
my local isp. At home I use a router and the wired lan, Sorry to be dense
but how can the bsp access my accounts when I'm away and it's long
distance? Iisx in fact dialling long distance and am I going to have to
pay long distance charges for using the bsp email program? should I
stick strictly with web access.
The problem with web access is that I can't seem to write an email
address correctly, all the at signs turn into percent signs or I get told
there's a syntax error in my address. I don't know ascii or computer
braille well enough apparently and so am floundering around here. anyway
if anyone has suggestions or ideas I'd appreciate hearing them.
Tessa
