The announcement is at the company's website.
For Alex: I would say not the first one to announce its
availibility for programmers upon request - a public SDK would do
it. HIMS already has foundation for it; all they need to do is
translating this into English. HW has better stability at
runtime (for now); all they need would be willingness.
Also, I just sent a message to HIMS bulletin asking whether an
English version of the Contchts SDK can be made.

Yes, I'm all for it! There are so many apps that could be added

Sense products' repertoire if we could have access to the SDK
and
a hook
into the menu system to launch them. The embedded Visual C++
development environment from Microsoft is free, and all we'd
need
is the
platform-specific SDK. We have two Windows CE 5 platforms at my
job for
which I've written and tested many, many applications, and it is
not
difficult if you know C++ and MFC once the SDK is plugged into
the
compiler.
I can easily think of at least a dozen applications I'd like to
create
to use on my BSP, but it is all just daydreaming until HIMS
agrees to
work with us and make the SDK available.
How do we go about petitioning HIMS?

Well, it all depends on when GW Micro will import the English
version of
the HIMS SDK. The Braille Sense family is managed by HIMS
(ultimately)
in South Korea. There is a Korean SDK (via Microsoft Foundation
Classes) which is availible to programmers upon request (not a
public
SDK; just a set of tools for developers).
I'd be happy to write an article on the HIMS Korean bulletin
urging the
company to consider exporting the SDK set to English.
That way people here in United States can write useful programs
for BSP.
In addition, there exists so-called "Menu Manager" in orean ROM
images.
This allows a user to manage which applications appear on the
Home
(Program Menu) screen. This also allows third-party
applications
to be
installed and removed as desired.

language. HIMS replied and said that it requires their SDK,
