Hi,
That's better then (HIMS did told me in Korean that they are
aware of American markets).

Hello all. Just FYI, we have already been talking to HIMS about
an SDK
for the American versions of the Sense notetakers. They plan on
eventually making it available, but they have not given us a
date. So
it's not a matter of GW Micro trying to convince HIMS. It's a
matter of
when HIMS is ready to do this. So I don't see that a petition
would
help, but if you have the time, anything is possible.
Many thanks.

Hi Joe,
Well, it all depends on when GW Micro will import the English
version of the HIMS SDK. The Braille Sense family is managed by
HIMS (ultimately) in South Korea. There is a Korean SDK (via
Microsoft Foundation Classes) which is availible to programmers
upon request (not a public SDK; just a set of tools for
developers).
I'd be happy to write an article on the HIMS Korean bulletin
urging the company to consider exporting the SDK set to English.
That way people here in United States can write useful programs
for BSP.
In addition, there exists so-called "Menu Manager" in orean ROM
images. This allows a user to manage which applications appear
on the Home (Program Menu) screen. This also allows third-party
applications to be installed and removed as desired.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
From another Joseph

Subject: [GWN] Braille Sense Plus SDK
I bought my Braille Sense Plus a couple of years ago with the
hope that
the English SDK would be available soon, and I really hope it
still
happens. I have been developing Windows CE applications using
MFC for
eleven years as part of my job, and I would love to help add to
the
popularity of the BSP (and family) by making games and other
applications available for the platform. Is there a petition we
could
sign or a bribe we could pay to make it happen? *smile*
Best regards.

That, requires an SDK, which HIMS confirmed that it does exist
in
Korean. I read a bulletin post about a high school student (in
South
Korea) who wants to write a frogram for Braille Sense in C
programming
language. HIMS replied and said that it requires their SDK,
which uses
MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes), a part of Visual Studio ofin
C++) in
order for it to work.
The true winner of this competition would be who will be the
first to
offer external programs - whether a translation, or a new
creation...

I prefer trivia games or word games to the text adventure games
on the
BN.
I couldn't get to first base with them. I would even enjoy
Pinochle.
I'd like to see the BrailleSense Plus offer trivia, word and
card
games
like that.
