What's happening is that you're deleting messages you've read. If you don't 
delete them, they won't be downloaded a second time. Apparently the BS will ask 
the pop server for messages you've deleted.

This eventually means that you have a mailbox with thousands of messages, and 
you have to figure out what to do about that. After 1000 messages, I like to 
spool my email on my netbook (which deletes email from the server) and then 
delete all messages in the BS's mailbox.
