Hi Eric,
First of all, can you connect to the internet at all such as with your
browser in the braillesense?
If not, you might try going into setup internet in the utilities menu of
the sense and see if you can connect to the net at all.
I'm not totally familiar with how the bs original is set up as I have a
bsp here, but sometimes if you do a reset or some other action, the
next time you try to connect to the internet, it won't happen
automatically and you need to go into setup internet and try to connect
by actually entering on the profile for your network.
As for the off-line upgrade, you download the appropriate software for
your model from:
www.gwmicro.com/braillesense
Then go to the support file link and hit enter on that.
You should then see links for the various software downloads and just
choose the one for the original if that's what you have.
The downloaded file will be a .zip file. Unzip it and place all the
files in the unzipped folder in the root folder of your storage card.
Put the card into the sense, go to utilities then upgrade and finally
select off-line.
Hit enter and if the system can find the files which it should, you will
probably be asked if you really want to upgrade. Hit yes and you should
be off.

Hello,
I'm still having problems connecting to the GW web site.
I've reviewed my Internet connections. They are a great mystery. I have
no idea which one to pick.
I've also checked the network status and picked what I deem to be the
most appropriate setting.
I tried connecting again and all I got was 8 attempts to connect to the
web site and then it told me I couldn't make a connection.
This is the same router and network cable that seems to make a flawless
connection to the Internet with my laptop.
It looks like I will have to send my unit back to GW Micro after the
summer convention season is over.
For my money give me my easy to use Blazie 40 cell notetaker.
If anyone on the list could give me a call during the holiday weekend
and perhaps talk me thru this process.
I have no idea why my unit can't see a connection to the GW web site
while it could before.
I've never had problems upgrading online before.
Also if I manage to unearth my compact flash card reader are their
insturctions once you download the offline version to direct you how to
perform the upgrade.
Thankd for the help.
Cordially,
Eric Clegg
