That's why I personally like upgrading off-line, not all that other
stuff to worry about.
My thought about trying to connect manually is that you might get an
error message which could provide a clue as to why you're unable to
connect. This is really a guess, but sound as though a setting might
have changed somewhere.
If you can connect to the internet using the browser then it seems to me
you should be able to connect for the upgrade as well. But, since I
don't know the specifics of your connection configuration, that's just a
guess on my part.
Hope you get it straightened out as that really can be very frustrating.

What I've had to do in that case is to put in a completely new card not
one that the VR has formatted and then I can seem to get to the root
directory easily.
If I use a card that the Stream has formatted I can only seem to go to
one of the already prepared directories.
I detest the Windows complexity!
Guess I'll have to try and find my card reader or buy a new one.
Can youeven still get readers for compact flash cards or the cards any
more?
