enough free space to extract the files to? Your error sounds like
one you
would get if there isn't enough space for the files to be
extracted.

No, don't have a pc. Have successfully upgraded just with the VS
in the past. Unsure what the variation is in the situation!

At the risk of repetition, here's what happens after I've I think
successfully downloaded from the GW site.
I go to the file which is VS BT 55 I hit enter, I get "unzip to
folder VS BT 55". I hit enter and get "vs BT 55 35 out of 36".
Then the beeps. Hitting c with space simpply gets me "vs bt 55
35 out of 36", so I assume nothing is happening, this has gone on
for 45 or so minutes. I then cannot do anything, I have to reset
to make anything happen.
This also happens if when on that file, regardless whether it's
in the downloads folder of the VS or on the root of an s d card.
This also happens if I am on the file and hit u with enter.
Thoughts?

Peter, not familiar with the method you used for I used the
on-line method, but it did take a while before it completes
upgrading the unit. If you didn't wait long enough before
pressing any buttons, you may have corrupted your upgrade file.
You might try to download that zip file, again, just in case you
got too impatient and hit buttons before you should have. It
does beep throughout the process. smile.

I've tried upgrading to 5,5 with the VS.
Here are the steps I've taken.
It seems as though I cannot unzip when I locate the file on the
s
d card.
I've been able to upgrade the VS just with the VS in the past.
I went to the gw site,
I brought up the list of links and hit s for support files,
I entered on that link.
I hit d tddtwice to get to downloads and entered on that link.
I then hit v to get to Voice Sense Support files. I hit enter
again.
I then hit v and got Voice Sense BT 5,5 firmware June 30th
I then hit enter.
I then found the download now link, or something like that, hit
enter and was given a combo box for a name, and then chose to
download it to the root of the s d card. I tried c with space
and found that the size of the download was 22'658 KB. That was
downloaded to the s d card.
I got the message saying that it had been done so successfully!!
Hope you're still with me!!
I then exited out of the browser and went to the s d card.
I hit v to get to the file which said something like, VS BT 55
zip list item, I then hit enter. I got the prompt "unzip to
folder name vs bt 55 computer edit box".
I hit enter.
I then get the message, VS bt 55 and that's where it just kept
beeping. Hitting c with space simply got me VS bt 55 zip and
then 20 out of 21 which I assume is the 20th item out of 21 on
the s d card.
Where have I gone wrong?
Really would appreciate your help here!
