I can't blame you for feeling the way you do about the Sync Braille. I'd
consider it and get it fixed since I'd share with my wife since we both
have voice senses. We'd use the sync braille at church! Unfortunately
money is tight on my end so I doubt I could get it from you even though I
wouldn't mind buying from you! I'd get it fixed!
Perhaps I'd go a different direction myself! I think I'd check in with

They have braille displays under the HID banner which work with System
Access, wireless phones including i-phone, i-pod Touch and I-pad. I think
having a braille display which can work with a number of devices is a
better way to go than having one which works with only one product. Even
Perkins Products have a couple of displays which work on any number of
products. I'm not prepared to pay $6100 for Apex and it may have the same
problem that the VS has for me when it comes to my AES protocol
connection. I plan to write Humanware about this as well as others to see
if all notetakers won't work with AES. This should be interesting!
I'll keep my VS for now since it is a good notetaker and if I encounter
some wy fi connection it can use, I'll play! I'm checking with a friend of
mine to see if he got the latest firmware and whether he can get his Email
now. He is on the same cable connection but I think he has a wireless
router which works with TKIP.
I really thought the Sense products were going to take the world by storm
but I think they too have fallen into the same old grind where they are
updated at their convenience or they decide what is important rather than
you and me!
I feel for you just the same! Hope you can get things worked out! Keep

syncbraille repaired in march and the very same key now has the very same
problem and it's only july.
I can't aford to get it fixed, so guess I'll just use it till the whole
thing falls apart.
At least my vs still works. If I could aford a Braillenote apex from Hw
I'd buy one tomorrow.

I hear you! I too hope we will see improvements in the sense Products
and I am afraid more and more of us are going to need to bring these
little things out before changes come to place and of course another
company is involved other than GW Micro. I don't feel you have been
unreasonable! For now, I too will do without my VS, my $350
netbook works fine and it will do for now! Even my Enabling embossor is
out of date when it comes to interfacing, so I'm out of luck when it
comes to brailling! The braille displays are making better advances so I
think the future of braille will be in mass produced braille displays
which can plug in without drivers and work bluetooth with various
devices, maybe our sense products at some point way down the road.
Perhaps I'll need to be content to get out of my embossor what I can
since it is 13 years old! Oh well! So goes life!
Thanks for writing as usual and keep up the good fight! I'll do my
best! I still like sense products better than Humanware products and I
too have faulty braille displays on all of my Humanware notetakers and
they no longer support them so what to do? More stuff for the junk heep
I guess!

I have Comcast cable for my TV, internet and home phone. Neither of my
notetakers will work with it, but for different reasons. On my desktop
PC, I have a wired modem/wireless router combo. I have a little usb
device which I can plug into a PC in my living room to get a wireless
connection. My PC in my living room doesn't work anymore.
I think it's a shame my notetakers won't work, but I'm content with
using a PC for the internet. I suppose it's because I never was able
to use my notetakers with cable. I'd probably be frustrated, too, if I
had been able to use the BSP with the internet and then the capability
was taken away.
The word processor means more to me than using the internet. I know
that I'm frustrated because I can't search for hard returns and replace
them with spaces. Nor can I set up tabs. The tabs don't bother me as
much as the hard returns do. I al wish there was the ability to format
paragraphs so when you translate from print to braille and vice versa
the paragraphs would have the correct format. Still, I was very happy
the word processor was able to open and read the updated manual for the
b32 I downloaded from the GW Micro web site. If it hadn't been able to
read the file, I would have been out of luck because I don't have any
form of Word on my PC. I've never liked Word. I prefer doing most of
my editing using my BSP. I hope HIMS will add more capabilities to its
word processor for the next release. I don't like having to use my
other notetaker because its display has weak dots in many of the cells.
