Hi, Yes - I am a computer science student with an interest in assistive tech, more specifically screen reading technology and equipment such as the guy that we use in one form or another - BSP, BN, and others. I'm mostly into searching for more info and explaining stuff. In connection with the BS family, I tend to research (or search) things that does relate to BS and other products, seeing that almost all notetaker these days run under Windows CE operating system, thus using almost the same basis for some answers. This is the reason why I tend to use terms that normally an engineering student might use, such as memory allocation, Rom image and so forth (which I do know is something that many would not understand, which I do apologize). The thing about Sunshine's BSP problem is a general one: If certain number of units do experience this memory shortage or crash, it might be possible that the units want more and more memory but the OS does not allow it. If this happens on BS original, that would explain the problem, seeing that it has smaller RAM size; however, on other units, the only explanation is running out of virtual memory and/or inaccessible memory parts (or locations). This is something that programmers and would-be programmers)like myself) do keep in mind when designing small desktop programs, because if we forget to delete something that we do need to delete, there is a risk of "memory leak" - where a program would use more and more memory. The effective solution, in my opinion, would be doing a Warm Reset, then a Cold Reset if warm reset doesn't help (because I have similar experiences with a unit that is not with me anymore) or even burning the newest firmware again i.e. reinstalling 5.5 (perhaps to clear out memory that the BSP couldn't access). As I said, this is not specific to BS family - all computers experience this problem unless the OS (and the software) has a "very solid" design where it will not crash your unit, which is highly unlikely.
