Tessa:
I'm not using a router; I merely have a modem from Comcast to connect my
computer and BS Plus to cable Internet. I find that in order to get hardware
communications to work properly (read in timely fashion), I must unplug the
cable modem and plug it back in before connecting the BS Plus to the Lan.
Also, it helps if one turns the BS Plus Ethernet connection OFF and back ON
again via Backspace-1-5-6. This usually gets things going.

Subject: [GWN] connecting to the net
Hi all:
Does anyone else have a problem with their bsp taking forever to connect
to
the internet when using lan?
I'm not sure the difference between lan and the dsl, my computer connects
to
the net through a router so when I connect with the bsp I use the lan
setting because it does it automatically, only thing is it takes 5 or more
minutes sometimes before it gets connected. It does eventually connect and
I
can get my mail and search the web and so on, but waiting for the darn
thing
is really annoying. When I was away and using wireless it was very fast to
connect. Anyone have any solutions or suggestions as to why this happens?
Thanks.
