Hi! Yes, there are many times when it takes a long tine to connect. Sometimes, in fact most of the time, it is due to a connection not being available. It gets frustrating at times.

I'm not sure the difference between lan and the dsl, my computer connects to the net through a router so when I connect with the bsp I use the lan setting because it does it automatically, only thing is it takes 5 or more minutes sometimes before it gets connected. It does eventually connect and I can get my mail and search the web and so on, but waiting for the darn thing is really annoying. When I was away and using wireless it was very fast to connect.
