Hi Soph,
There are several UK folks on here, so maybe one of them can chime in
regarding when and where the UK software upgrade is.
Also, we do have a couple people here using the qt unit. i think there
are some differences between the UK ans US software, but the general
units are probably about the same, so hopefully you can get the info you
need.
I never used any of the earlier sense notetakers except the voicesense
but there are several folks on here with the older units too.

That sounds good lol. Even though I don't have a BT unit, or what ever
a braille unit is called on the BSP lol, I learn something knew every
day, and I love my Braille Sense! The recording is briliant! I am
hoping though I can get my MSN on my Qwerty Braille sense soon. The
stereo sound is beautiful as wel! Did anyone on here have the older
Braille sense/Braille Hanson, and how did that compare with the
Braille sense Plus? Sorry that went off topic, but i'm just
interrested. Soph.

Steve,
If you're sure the files from your backup weren't the cause of your
having to reformat in the first place, you can answer yes. If you just
want to start over and create new settings including email etc., answer
no and you'll have to set up from scratch.
When you start with a fresh flash disc, the sense puts the basic
required folders in place and will automatically create new ones as
appropriate the first time you start each of the sense's applications.
The reformat and resetting of defaults can be a bit confusing. If you
really really want to go back to all defaults, you should reformat the
flash cis but also do a hard reset by pressing the reset button while
holding down the forward button for 20 seconds or until you hear the tone.
The reformat cleans off your flash disc, but the hard resets actually
gets things back to the defaults.
Hope this makes sense and doesn't just confuse the issue even further.

So when I'm pasting my backed up folders and files back to my flashdisk
and
VS says "file already exists. Do you want to overwrite?" do I press yes or
no?

Hello,
Those folders are part of the system. I wouldn't delete them. In fact,
they're probably protected so that deleting them is impossible.

Subject: [GWN] reformatting flash disk
I reformatted my flash disk by holding down the spacebar and dots 123
along with the reset button. Once complete, My flash disk is showing 3
folders named database, download and upload. There is one file called
fileext.ini in the data base and the other 2 are empty. Before I paste my
flash disk bacup files to my flash disk, should I delete these 3 folders?
Thx
Steve
