Subject: Re: Text.NextClip parameters

Sean,

The documentation does need fixing. The ScreenPoint is optional.
However, it auto updates. This means the first time you call a Text
object method you should set the Point property first or supply it with
the method. This is so you can get a starting point. If you don't, it
will default to 0,0. But after that the point auto updates the the unit
you just got. So for example, lets say you want to move by clip. All
you have to do is first call Text.Clip(startingPoint) where
startingPoint is where you want to start. But from then on all you have
to do is call Text.NextClip and you'll get the next clip. If you call
it again, you'll get the next and so on. This is because the Point
property is auto updated with the unit you just got. You can verify
this by printing out the Point property x and y values as you call Next
or Previous.

Hi Aaron:

Thanks for that, if this is the case then, is the help incorrect, as it

states the screenpoint parameter for the NextClip method of the text

object is optional, shouldn't this be required?

Sean.

If you don't specify the appropriate parameters, the Text object won't

contain anything, because it wouldn't know where to get any information

from. If you have a clip, you can get the screen point by doing:

ClipObj.Position.ScreenPoint

Hi:

If I don't supply a screen point, to the text.nextClip method, will it

use the current clip?

I am using this in OnChildClipRendered.

Chers

Sean.
