thanks for the clarification Doug; I didn't want to start out on this major
(for us) project, and have to stop part way through and tell them my screen
reader wouldn't work for me! so I thought I'd just be clear and double
check.

Chip,

I didn't say Window-Eyes 7.2 doesn't have any UIA support (smile). Because
of Windows 7 and Office 2010 Window-Eyes had to have some UIA support but it
is specific to these two environments. As we stated in our 7.2 release
notes, Office 2010 is fully supported.

Hi Doug and Aaron,

Can you tell me if WE is currently able to support office 2010 if it doesn't
support the use of UIA? we're about to switch to it, and it's important for
me to know if it can't fully support Office 2010.

thanks.

Hello Rick,

Yes on both counts. Are goal is to have this in the next major release of
Window-Eyes. I can't give you any dates at this point but it is top
priority for us.

Doug

Hi Doug et al: The Microsoft Product lines are implementing the UIA
Technology and using WPF extensively. This includes Visual Studio, the
Expression products, Silverlight and Office as well as others. Is there a
plan to fully implement UIA as a part of WE in the near future?
Will WE make the UIA hooks available in the DOM model and handle related
methods, events and properties for scripting?
Thanks:
