Hi Rick,

I realize everyone is thinking I wanted an entirely mobile-based project;
and in fact, for those who are traveling on public transit or riding with
someone maybe they can use a mobile-based app; but I came here for advice
specifically to see if I can add enough features so that it's just as useful
to pc-based users.

David got it (what I was asking), and immediately had a couple of
suggestions that will make it more useful to those who don't have a netbook.

My other point though was to do something like you evidently did, but put it
out there for others to learn from: that is, show the benefits of
interfacing with web sites to make your app more than it is; to both get
data you need and to simply present to the user a simpler interface for
them.

Yes, I am using something like JSON, but since it's VBScript, I am using
XML, which Google reluctantly offers (admitting that the entire world hasn't
quite yet signed on to their vision of jScript). If anyone has a way for
VBScript to use JSON I'd sure like to see it here?

I'm just hoping though the app will help others learn to interface over the
web, and find uses for GPS data that aren't necessarily only benefitial to
the mobile user. It's completely different from what's out there so far,
and I see that as a good thing, as it might help stimulate ideas in someone
else.

What about your financial app you mentioned?

Chip
