Gyrosians,

This is totally unrelated to tonight's ride report but I know everyone will be
interested in this since it affects a lot of our rides. I read on another
forum that New Light is on the list to be repaved from Hwy 98 all the way up to
the Granville County Line. It is planned for this summer. Does anyone know if
there is any truth to this? I'm excited by this news but this could be a mixed
bag. Great for us but I see traffic going a bit faster than normal.

Anyway, to tonights ride. I am not the poetic writer that Rick is so I'll just
make this short and sweet and others can put in their 2 cents if they like.

We had yet another fantastic turnout. 17 riders to start with one goal in mind
 - hit the magical 23mph pace for the 30 miles. I am very happy to announce
that not only did the lead group hit 23 but went over by 3/10's. In the lead
group were Bert, Tom, Smith & Claude, Logan, Steve L, Chris, Steve H and John.
Everyone worked together in a rotating single paceline and when we hit the Doc,
things started heating up, as usual. Both Don and I just fell off the lead
group right at the top of the Doc and we were hoping that there would be
oncoming traffic to give us the time we needed to get back on the train but it
wasn't going to happen.

The lead group finished @ 23.3mph with Don & I (Chase 1) coming in @ 23mph.
There were 5 others, (Chase 2), coming in @22.9mph.

What a great ride. Logan has already stated that next week "We go faster!"

Rick, you'd be proud. Can't imagine what we'll be doing by late summer.

Tony
