an amazing ambassador for cycling. Yes, there are other great
mechanics out there but THEY DON'T RIDE WITH US! Gary has been with
our B ride more than once when we needed him and he's just a great
person. Please disregard SILLY inferences that you are somehow
employed or were paid to state the obvious about Gary or that "you
know what happens". We are a cycling community and we need to take
care of one another otherwise why ride with a group at all?
Please come out again. Hey, I'm a woman and I even getted dropped
occassionally on the no-drop Recovery Ride but not much these days; I
know my way around now so it's not as big a deal as it use to be.
We'll look for you Thursdays.

Hey man I don't have am axe to grind here against anyone. I was just
thankful that Gary helped me out. I don't think I needed a master
mechanic to help with that. There are some very nice people at trek.
The one thing that is obvious is there are some ego maniacs as

Unless it is clearly viewed by others, and, "mechanical" is not
declared in a stentorian voice (like Tony's!), the 'victim' might
find himself in a situation where he is left behind to fix his own
flat. Happens all the time.
This is not because the group mindfully decided to leave a fellow
Gyro to fend for himself, which appears to be the implication here.
They just were not aware. (I understand that Ed was on this ride,
and, no-one in all of Gyro history is as considerate and attentive
of other riders than Ed. If he was aware of your situation he would
have stopped the group, or gone back to assist you.)
It was fortuitous having Gary of TLC roll up on you. He is an
outstanding mechanic. The only thing that could have topped that
would be if Matt from Trek happened to roll up on you! He is Master
Mechanic!

I would like to thank Gary of TLC Bikes for helping me with my
flat on last nights ride. I was riding on the Thurs. night ride
and i had a flat about 6 miles into the ride. I thought the ride
was a stop for mechanicals but no one stopped. Luckily Gary and 2
others were behind me and stopped and waited for me. Gary
stripped
my tire off and had the thing changed in under 2 mins. It was the
fastest tire change I have ever seen. By this time the group was
no where to be seen. I ended up riding with the three of them and
we did 45 miles which was about 13 farther than the group so it
worked out. While riding Gary noticed my bike needed some
adjustments. I took it t him today and it was the best service I
have ever had. He gave me a great price too. He spent a lot of
time with me since I have only been riding about 3 yrs and went
above and beyond his mechanical duties in helping me with
nutrition and showing me things to help me in the future. I know
they don't like the promoting of other shops on here but I have
to
give credit where credit is due. Thank you so much Gary for all
of
your help. And, fail to the Gyro's for not waiting on mechanicals
as your ride describes.
