Did anyone even bother to notify law enforcement of the tacks? Or this another non-event for the Gyros? Granted this would be a low priority item for law enforcement but the group should take some kind of initiative.
You have a description of the vehicle and an eye witness (guy from the nursery) to the event. Really, how many 4 door BMW sedans transverse Carpenter Pond/Coley between 5pm and 6pm M-F? How hard could it be to have a few Gyros park in their cars at a few locations along Carpenter Pond 30 minutes or so prior to next week's ride and watch for the BMW? The Gyros have already retreated from New Light Rd (NC Bike Rt 1, the gateway to great riding north of Wake County) for whatever reason.
