It's been great to hear how others are coping with isolation and of the projects they're working on. I hope you all stay safe and as happy and busy as possible.
I'm working from home so I don't have all of the day for myself. Still, I've managed to make about 18 face masks, until I ran out of bias binding, elastic and cotton fabrics from my stash. The San Francisco Bay Area (California) has been shut down since March 9th, so we've got a head start on sewing over much of the rest of the country. Being over 60 with some medical issues, I've only left the house four times since then so I've had lots of time in the house. We just got Acorn so I've been watching Brit television while doing handwork. Murder mysteries really help to keep me focused on anything other than the pandemic. I'm working on a shaub for my husband, one I promised him about four years ago. Most of the shaub is made and I've put together the fur collar, which will be basted to the shaub whenever he wears it and taken off for cleaning and storage. Next tasks are to finish the facings and cartridge pleat the sleeves to the body. I've made a 1890s petticoat with lots of pleated ruffles, the muslin for the linen skirt I have planned. I've made a muslin for the Folkwear Armistice Blouse but need someone to help with fitting. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to self-fit. Next up is a 1920s skirt to go with the Armistice blouse. I'll make a muslin and use it as the petticoat if it works. I have dreams of sewing a bunch of other projects but I'll have to see how far I get down the list. I hope you all keep safe and healthy. Keep sewing everyone, keep being positive, use up that stash.
