The story of Shakespeare's "lost years" is called "Bill". It is horrible.
Costumes, ironically, aren't bad.
Oscar, with Sylvester Stallone. Really good, one of my favorites.
"The Uninvited", good ghost story (NOT bloody) from 1939, I think
"Cold Comfort Farm"
The BBC mini series of "Our Mutual Friend"
The Royal Shakespeare version of "Nicholas Nickleby"--6 CDs, but REALLY good.
Very true to the book, hardly anything is left out--just the part about Mrs.
Nickleby and the man who throws vegetable marrows over the wall.
I'm assuming you've seen "Call the Midwife"?

Subject: [h-cost] Film or tv recommendations?

Hi,
I need a little distraction and I am out of film and tv-series to watch.
Can any of you recommend anything within any of these categories?

Great costuming
Really crappy costuming
So bad you can't believe it story/acting/costuming
Most or all historical facts are off
Just something you love
How did you miss this?
Documentaries
Youtube how -to videos

Language is no problem as long as they have English subs or are in a
Scandinavian language.

Gunvor the utterly bored
