I don't know what you've seen already. But one film I'd recommend (in a
good way) is Gosford Park.
BBC has done some great series from various novels by Dickens and
Trollope. They have done some Dickens books at least twice. The newer
ones have better technical quality, but I like all of them. My favorite
of the Trollope series is The Way We Live Now.
BBC often coproduces or at least licenses with PBS Masterpiece Theatre,
so on a US website the series may be marketed under that brand.
