There's also* North and South* and *Cranford*, based on two books by
Elizabeth Gaskell (1810-1865). I think they were both serialized on
Masterpiece Theater. I don't know the Romantic period very well but *Cranford
*looked pretty good to my mid-late Victorian eye.* N&S *is (costumes in the
1840s) more accurate to the book but *Cranford  *(less accurate to the book
but costuming was great) is more fun.
