I've tried this method, and the issue I have is that even the cap doesn't stay. I can be sitting still and within about 10 minutes the little bugger slides right off the back of my head, even if it's tied under my chin!
I know they're modern, but the only thing I can get to stay on my head for any length of time are those Chinese hair nets with the elastic in them, and even those I have to pin down!
