I, too, know how haughty clerks can be at high-end fabric stores. I used to visit one located near my office (it has since moved, so I haven't been there in years). I couldn't afford the printed cottons! The clerks were the most disdainful men and women I've ever met. But I did get to see some pearled white satin that cost $400 a yard.
