What I like about the nifty tool that I got is that the edging results on soft cotton is a rather dainty feathered effect, On stiffer fabric, it gives the expected sharp zig-zag- pattern.
My present project is mainly h-costume inspiration doll clothing and the results for ruschings is simpler but elegant strips that do not require more ornamentation or time to turn the edges. I have plans for Ordinary costume seam finishing to look forward to.
