Could it fasten in back? I don't know if they did this in the 18th century,
but we do it for onstage all the time. :)

Hi i ment the waistcoat, not the coat.
It seems that the left side where the buttonholes are, was made larger 
besides the embroidery, to have the embroidery edge to edge when buttoned!
This they didnt do back in 18th century.
