Matching patterns, never mind grain, did not seem to be a high priority. ********************* I disagree. Just look at the 1st gowns in the Kyoto book. And there are period written accounts about the skills of tailors matching fabrics. Of course lots of piecing goes on....especially if the gown is cut from another gown [and I'll bet the original gown matched], but I bet a lot of effort went into disguising piecing and matching things up whenever possible. _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
