Hello,
can anyone offer any advice please, I'm desperate!
I made a set of swaddling clothes, biggin, coif, forehead cloths, shirt, 4
12ft long swaddling bands, tail clouts, belly band etc. etc.all from
beautiful old french linen, fully hand stitched. I've been boiling them up
regularly with home made soap to soften the linen, it's been working really
well.
When I stayed with a friend who was going to photograph the set for me she
put the clothes into her machine for a boil. Unfortunately she had
previously been felting some red wool fabric in the machine and now I have a
set of pink baby linen. I've tried the Dylon dye remover and chlorine bleach
and it's not made any difference.
Avice to remove the colour (or evidence of pink baby linen!) would be
gratefully recieved.
I know in the great scheme of things there are worse things that could
happen, but last night I started to cut out a new set of clothes and ended
up in floods of tears. My partner has said we can still photograph the
clothing and he can use the computer to make the clothing look the right
colour but I've spent three years researching and making this project, was
hoping to start school presentations in September.
Thanks for listening.
regards
Joy Shillaker
