There will be some "shrinkage" due to the cording taking up the base
fabrics and turning them 3 dimensional.  I discovered that the hard
way when making corded stays.  Oops!  Fortunately I was able to
insert a panel and get them back to size.

     I know it's tedious, but maybe the trick is to do a small sample to
see how much length and breadth is taken up, and then size the
pattern accordingly before making it.

     Bjarne, does embroidery usually shrink the item you're making?  I
thought that was the point of putting the fabric under tension, to
avoid the threads pulling the base fabric.
