I have not ordered from this store, but I think I know the fabric.
There is a certain type of Oriental silk or silk/rayon blend, a kind of
smooth, supple, nonmetallic brocaded satin. It is not upholstery
fabric, but it is not of the very lightest weight. It often has Oriental
type motifs in the pattern, but if they are not "period" for your use,
you can always find a pattern without them. This fabric is usually
reasonably priced, as these things go, and it's also quite lovely.
This looks like the stuff. There are other stores that carry it--I've
seen it in Thai Silks' brick-and-mortar store, and I think their website
may also list it but have not checked. I've sen it in a lot of fabric
stores around here, but then we have a large Oriental population.
Anyway, if your concern is the fabric and not the vendor--I have never
bought from them but their selection and prices look good--as long as
you're not looking for a really lightweight brocade, it's very nice.

I like some of their tapestries, but am not sure about ordering from them.
Thanks, Susan in Bellevue.
