This brings up a good point.

Anyone know of any good 18th century shoe sources that
aren't hundreds of dollars?  I'm finding that I'm not
even that nuts about shoes I'm finding on reenactor
sites.  The heel shape is just SO hard to get right. 
That's why I like the slides posted below... but the
open toe is not at all what I want.
