Try washing again with "Stain Grabber". It is a disposable sheet that goes in the washer and pulls the excess dye out of the water, so it doesn't re-deposit on the fabric. Look for it in the laundry aisle.

This happened to me once, with a dark blue. I ended up using it for fighter's garb and linings...

Sad, really, since it's a beautiful piece of fabric otherwise.
