Yes, exactly. It's good to look at the pictures and
start to see what's there is not what you expect. One
of my favorite resources is J.R. Hale's Artists &
Warfare in the Renaissance. ISBN-13: 978-0300048407

It's both an art book and a history book, and the
details even in the large scenes are amazing.
Excellent sources for both German and Italian soldiers
and their women, plus nobles and some pageant stuff.
