I should have asked if anyone has made this pattern - am I way off in my
opinion?

Yes. I have made the gown from "Patterns of Fashion"....using the book as a
guide [it was almost the right size] not a commercial pattern. It was for a
film we did in Richmond for The Family Channel back in 1995 called "Tad"...
about Abe Lincoln's young son and seeing the goings on in the White House
during
the Civil War through his eyes. It was worn by actress Jean Louisa Kelly in
the role of Julia Taft.

That was an interesting project. I also made a Union general uniform for the
character of Tom Thumb.... that's right, for a midget. And a gown I made
from cafe curtains ended up on Jane Curtin....which I still have and call "The
Jane Curtin Curtain Dress".
