Hello! I'm looking for advice on cleaning an early (1910s) dress form. The
fabric is in almost perfect condition, but the metal bands and screws have some
rust and (minor) corrosion. Most of the metal parts move well, but a few are
stiff and so are some of the screws/nuts that allow for adjusting. If I use any
rust remover or something like WD-40, I risk getting it on the fabric or
leaving residue on the metal that might damage garments I put on the form.
Help! Any suggestions ... or cautions?
