If you can take it apart, use Naval Jelly on the rust. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Audrey Bergeron-Morin Sent: Tuesday, March 17, 2009 9:02 AM To: Historical Costume Subject: Re: [h-cost] antique dress form?
Don't use WD-40. If you have to use some kind of lubricant, use a silicon-based one that won't stain (Giga-A-Loo comes to mind, if that's available in your area). I guess sewing machine oil would also be much cleaner (and less toxic!) than WD-40. The best thing you could do, though, is take the thing apart and give all rusted pieces a good scrub with a steel wool pad first to get rid of the rust. _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
