--Catching up after a weekend trip--

I remember a girl in my 6th grade class wore a Nehru jacket and was admonished
not to wear it again.? This would have been about 1962-63.?

One of our Senior Week days was "Hippie Day" (this was spring of 1968).? The
best I could do was an orange skirt (probably with knee socks), striped top,
and lots of beads.?
My freshman year college room-mate had several Villager outfits. They were too
pricey for my parents, though.?
And, yes, I wore horizontally striped hip-hugger bell bottoms!? Made them
myself!? I seem to remember that the fabric had to be pretty wide, though.?
Long legs.?
My college graduation dress (1972) was a heavy white textured double-knit.?
Sleeveless, empire waist, finger-tip length.?

Styles changed somewhat from the early '60s to the late '60s.? In high school,
our skirts had to be lower knee-length.? I remember my mom trying to let down
one that had very little hem.? By the second or third year of college, I was
wearing them finger-tip length.??

I don't think anyone has mentioned fringed vests, yet.? And ponchos.?

So, when did Nehru jackets come in?

I remember wearing a crocheted dress to a dance my first year at grad
school in 1970.
