I have some of that Joann's cotton/linen blend that I use for linings (it is rather limp, and I prefer 100% linen for smocks). Joanns seems to be phasing out this type of blend, as their online bolts were out, and all I'm finding in my local store at present is the linen/rayon blend which isn't as nice to use. If you can find it, snag it. I know I keep looking, as it is rather nice and soft.
I think Bjarne also mentioned that his usual store was out of the really nice linen at the time and he was looking for another source.
