IIRC, you need to remove and add a new QD to get it to use SCSI-3 PGRe instead of SCSI-2. Best option is probably going to be to boot two nodes, remove the QD and then boot the third node, then add a new QD. I think that should avoid the panics. (I've not tried it though)
