Hi Fred, I guess the devices are usable by dd read of a slice for example ? If there is a preventing scsi reservation this would not be successful. I wouldn't mess around with reservation keys, suncluster does handle this pretty well (except for gatekeeper devices) and most of the time this is an EMC issue from my personal experience.
There are known issues with microcode and powerpath, I think pp5.2 is a good version. Other versions are probably unsupported and do not work properly. Also the LUNs need to be prepared especially for suncluster, dunno what is exactly required. Guess this has something to do how the VPD 0x83 is presented so that it matches what suncluster expects in terms of scsi2 pgre. If I remember correct errno6 is what you get when there is no reservation on it. Is there something more descriptive in the messages when the cluster first saw the new devices (scgdevs) ? Anyhow I would check the EMC documentation what needs to be done, there are definitely specials. Veritas does not know anything about reservation, it never puts one but would fail if there is a preventing resv. jono -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
