Wrt, Hosting, are we too small (still) to try and get someone to sponsor us? Is SourceForge completely out of the question? SF does provide hosted Trac now...

The issue is that in the infrastructure that the ASF provides there is no technical distinction in commit permissions between contributor earning merit and PMC member who has been voted in because they've earned the position. Any committer could alter core code. That's a clear departure from what we do now.
