Now that's an epic idea! I dont know about those wiki updates, but IMO just a simple list somewhere online would be great (maybe a section on habariproject.org ?).

The wiki has a list of Habari powered sites which I am sure is never ever checked for dead sites or broken links. Also it is rarely updated. Still, I like the idea to be able to see who is using Habari. So I thought of this:

What about providing a small plugin with the core that sets a, let's say monthly, cronjob that pings hp.o to tell it "I'm here". On hp.o side, those pings would be collected in a list which could then automatically remove sites that did not send a ping in three months. I'm pretty sure we could have some bot update the wiki page.

That plugin should not be activated by default for privacy reasons, but would provide a one-click solution for all people who want to share their site. With the old installer, we could highlight it somehow ("hey, click here to show up on our great list!"), and with the installer-free installer, we could add a notification just as we do for the admin password.

Now let me hear if I am insane or if that might be a good idea. :)
