Almost everybody else is doing that! :-)

From an end-user view point, I agree with the "I don't care" idea, except I would say the most important is not the speed but the fact it doesn't crash or make me loose data! Speed is still important, but it comes at the second place. Else, what's the meaning of crashing faster? :-D > I have like, 2GBs of RAM, and it will be a waste if I don't use them all. Tech people want software that don't eat all the memory because they do know that the Linux kernel is using free memory to speedup everything else (e.g. caching disk access). Also, you are lucky to have a 2 GB RAM computer, but what about not-that-old computers in school (or elsewhere) that can't be upgraded because nobody sells that kind of old RAM anymore? Should they beg for money to buy new computers? That's the Microsoft's way of thinking, not the GNU/Linux one? > I'd say I will trade size to functionality anytime, in terms of everyday > computing. > Size for functionality is an acceptable deal. But functionality (and also productivity) starts with a stable operating system and desktop environment, which KDE doesn't seem to provide, yet. -- Jean Christophe "????" ANDR? ? ? ?
