If it's EOL and they did not upgrade the OS then they are either lazy or interesting in "stability". Either way they are probably not going to upgrade HAProxy any further. I'd say that keeping the CentOS 6 builds is a waste of effort. Especially since they are limiting us with regard to the supported SSL version from my understanding (I might be wrong there, but I believe this is what https://github.com/haproxy/haproxy/issues/944 is about).
