I'm exactly sure what is the point of your discussion,
but in Harbour our goal is to support QT 4.5.0 and upper
versions.
Older version may or may not work, for our project this
is not a goal or priority.
4.5.0 is the first version which can be used with
commercial apps for free. That's the reason.

dependencies in Linux
Kubuntu 8.04 do not have QT actualization beyond this version
( 4.3.2 )
Well , I don't like the NEW KDE 4 desktop and only two days ago I get
a Kubuntu 9.04 Version with KDE 3.5 desktop.
This distro , the most updated today of UBUNTU , includes QT 4.5.0
and not exists ( or at least I didn't found It) other in UBUNTU
repositories.
I hope you understand my comment and don't be angry for It.
