            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Only one week from tonight and it all begins... in Memphis. And Hardball will
be there! Stay tuned for our coverage of the Southern Republican Leadership
Conference beginning next week.

The debate continues today over the Bush administration's handling of Hurricane
Katrina, and tonight, we'll turn to the former administration official at the
center of the storm: Michael Brown, former FEMA director. We'll hear his
reaction to the Katrina briefing tapes and his thoughts on the political
fallout since the hurricane hit.

President Bush landed in Pakistan under extremely tight security. For a live
report from the scene we'll speak with NBC's Hasan Zaidi, live from Islamabad.

What kind of security challenges did the president face for this trip and why
was this visit so politically important? Chris will be joined by NBC
Counter-terrorism analyst Roger Cressey and former presidential advisor David
Gergen for answers to these questions. (For all the latest on President Bush's
trip, click here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11651039/.)

And don't miss our Friday Feature, Hardball HotShots! MSNBC's Rita Cosby, Joe
Scarborough, and Tucker Carlson will kick off your weekend with the week's
noteworthy stories.

Be sure to tune in for Monday's Hardball for an exclusive interview with
newly-elected House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH).
