            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

On the Hill today the United States Senate defeated two Democratic proposals
for troop withdrawal in Iraq. A co-sponsor of one resolution voted down today,
Armed Services Committee member Senator Jack Reed (D-Rhode Island), will join
us to discuss the outcome along with Senator Kit Bond (R-MO), who sits on the
Select Intelligence Committee.

In a Hardball EXCLUSIVE, Norah O'Donnell will ask House Majority Leader John
Boehner (R-OH) about the politics of the war in Iraq, immigration, and the
Voting Rights Act.

With growing concerns over North Korea's nuclear capabilities, we'll discuss
implications with two former administration veterans, Fmr. Bush 41 Secretary of
State Lawrence Eagleburger and Ashton Carter, Clinton Asst. Secretary of
Defense. Be sure to check out the op/ed that Carter co-wrote:

For more on the threat of North Korea and the violence this week in Iraq and
Afghanistan, Former CIA officer Bob Baer will join Norah. Bob is also author
of "Blow the House Down."

And last but certainly not least, MSNBC Political Analyst Pat Buchanan and
