            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Watch Hardball tonight at 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern for all the news and results
from Tuesday's big primaries and the latest in the war of words on Capitol Hill
as the fight for Congress gets hotter and Election Day grows closer. (It's just
55 days away now!) Polls show voters are angry this year for the midterm
election. Tonight, Chris talks with Bill Maher, host of HBO's "Real Time,"
about the anger out there and how the battle for power in Congress is shaping
up. Has the political rhetoric gone overboard?

Speaking of polls, on the 7 p.m. edition of Hardball, we'll have the results of
the newest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. NBC Chief White House
Correspondent David Gregory, CNBC Chief Washington Correspondent John Harwood
and NBC News Congressional Producer Mike Viqueira will all join Chris to talk
about what the numbers say about the mood on the Hill and around the country.

Check out Chris' thoughts on yesterday's primary results on
http://politics.msnbc.com. It's the brand new political experience powered by
NBC News and National Journal, featuring news, analysis, candidate profiles,
state and district profiles, race rankings, and much more! Where else can you

Press" Moderator Tim Russert, Hotline Editor-in-Chief Chuck Todd, Cook
Political Report Publisher Charlie Cook, and the NBC Political Unit's "First
Read"? Only at http://politics.msnbc.com.

Hardball's David Shuster will recap all of the developments in yesterday's
primaries. By the way, MSNBC.com's Tom Curry has analysis of Tuesday's results:

Also tonight, Chris will talk with Chuck Todd and Newsweek Chief Political
Correspondent Howard Fineman, both MSNBC political analysts, about the
implications of Sen. Lincoln Chafee (R-RI)'s win in Rhode Island's GOP primary
and much more. Newsweek's Michael Isikoff and The Nation's David Corn,
co-authors of "Hubris," also will be here to talk about the ongoing fight over
the Iraq War. Plus, former Clinton advisor Sidney Blumenthal, author of "How
Bush Rules," and Republican strategist Karen Hanretty will dig into how the
parties are pulling out all the stops to win.

And, attention all you political junkies, be sure to watch Hardball on
Thursday. Our guests will include veteran political strategists Doug Sosnik and
Matt Dowd, co-authors of "Applebee's America."
