The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------
ABC News anchor Bob Woodruff was nearly killed when a roadside bomb struck the
vehicle he was riding in while reporting from Iraq. Now Woodruff and his wife
Lee are the co-authors of a new book, "In An Instant: A Family's Journey of
Love and Healing." They joined Chris to talk about Woodruff's long road to
recovery, and in light of those shared experiences, what they think about news
of neglect and mistreatment of wounded troops here at home. Later in the show,
more on this with former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, author of
"Failing America's Faithful."
First it was "Macaca," now a Capitol Hill temper flare is caught on camera and
posted on YouTube - faster than you can slam a door in someone's face. Earlier
today, anti-war activist Tina Richards confronted Rep. Dave Obey (D-WI) about
Congress's failure to get tough on the war. Richards will be here tonight and
we'll take a look at the tape of what happened after words became heated.
Then, more on the center stage role the internet is now playing in politics.
We all know about the importance of developing "grassroots" in campaigns, but
2008 is shaping up to be all about "netroots." Watch tonight's report from
Hardball's Jeremy Bronson to find out what it's all about.
Newsweek editor Jon Meacham will join Chris to talk about the latest in Iraq
and the guilty verdict for Scooter Libby in the CIA leak case. Read his
tribute to Arthur Schlesinger Jr.:

And we'll have all things politics with the Hardballers: Ron Christie, GOP
consultant and former aide to both President Bush and Vice President Cheney and
Robert Raben, former Justice official.
